Scope of Work

We would love to hear about your wishes and how our design team can help you. After learning more about you, family, and/or coworkers, we will be happy to create a customized design process to include interior architecture and design, garden design, as well as artwork and creative direction.

Here is the general structure of our design services and process:
Architecture & Interior Design: Transform and celebrate spaces

A holistic approach complete with cultural narratives and ecological care is built for the client’s needs and lifestyle. The interior architecture process of space planning includes selecting and overseeing application of hard materials, and a manipulation of all interior and exterior layouts. Additionally, we visualize design intent, oversee budget and hard material selection, and liaising, selecting, and assisting builders on site to see the project through to completion.

A selection process of a considered palette of materials, furniture, and accessories often responsive but always cohesive with the interior architecture. The decorative scheme is also holistically considered to be in line with the interior architecture. The furniture selection is sourced  and considered with quality and variety in mind. 
Artwork and Creative Direction: Sensual spaces

The final touch to any home or space, styling the decorative aspect to interiors. While artwork is developed as part of the initial process of thinking and developing design, our creative direction is offered at the end of the project to dress, style and complete a space. Often underestimated,  this process is fundamental in delivering the layers of personality and considered touch points.
Design Process 
Customized Design Steps
We will work with you closely to capture your dream spaces within timeline and budget. We will present a design update at each stage. 

Here is an example of a Design Timeline, which will be customized to project's needs.
+0 Inception (1 - 2 weeks)

Review program needs as well as space layout and general dimensions to inform concept design and its development. This may include site visit, as needed.

Note: We will partner with engineering teams and local builders, as required by the project.
 +1 Concept Design (1 - 3 weeks)
Timeline will extend if the scope of works include building design​

1.1 Create Concept Design comprised of:
  • Interior Design: overall space layout, design character, and moodboard for your interior spaces;
  • Garden Design: a site layout and moodboard for all functional and decorative components and materials;
  • The above may include a combination of study models or digital representations for the proposed design and preliminary cost estimate.

+2 Final Design (1 - 3 weeks)
Timeline will extend if the scope of works include building design
​
2.1 Upon receiving concept design approval, prepare a Final Design as follows:
  • Interior Design: final layout, interior elevation, description, cost of each furniture and decor, and estimated delivery time at the time of final document is produced;
  • Garden Design: all site layouts including planting and furniture list with descriptions for each item including decor and artwork.
  • The final design document will be accompanied by schedule of delivery and installation at the time of document is prepared, and final cost estimates with discounted prices outlining cost saving with recommended implementation phases.

Implementation Stage
Realizing Your Vision
Implementation stages can be initiated upon approval of the schedule, cost, and methods of installation and/or delivery. Building design will be coordinated with partner builder(s). Furnishing delivery turnaround time generally 7-21 days while custom pieces may take longer and will be determined closer to the date of purchase.
 +3 Purchasing Phase (on-going after the above phases)
Timeline will depend on the pieces we are working together on

3.1 Reconfirm cost estimate and schedule of delivery and/or installation based on the approved Final Design

3.2 Procure and/or produce items for Interior Design and Garden Design either separately or together based on the approved Design, Schedule, and Invoices

+4 Installation & Staging (to be completed by the agreed date)
4.1 Following the schedule of delivery and installations of all items, if needed, select necessary installer(s) and monitor their work.

Note:
  • Purchasing Phase includes research, sourcing, negotiation, supply chain management, transport & logistics, budgeting, project management and monitoring of installation;
  • Originally selected items may be replaced with approved equals if unable to be delivered as scheduled;
  • Warranty for plant materials, furnitures, and installation workmanship will defer to industry and/or selected factory standards.

Our Fee Structure
LumpSum
​Design Fee
With clear understanding of the scope of work as well as the design process, deliverables, and timelines, we offer a lump sum design fee so we can focus on the tasks at hand.

Percentage of total contract payment will be scheduled as follows:
  • Upon approval of the Proposal
  • Upon presentation of Concept Design
  • Upon presentation of Final Design
Built-In Fee
To allow for greater flexibility in developing the design first, the implementation stage will be accompanied by a built-in fee in the purchase prices of the selected items. This will allow us to carry on the full task of securing, negotiating, and managing items on your behalf.
Note: the overall services are offered as one package.
